If you are active on Instagram and follow a lot of curly influencers, you have probably heard about the Q-Redew by now. When I first saw it, I thought– great, another diffuser! NOPE, not that! So what is Q-redew? It’s just a hand held steamer for your hair 🙂 It helps you quickly detangle, hydrate, reshape, and stretch your hair. You can do a lot with this steamer. Below are some ways I use the Q-Redew.
- To Deep Condition – After washing my hair, I apply my deep treatment of choice while my curls are still damp and proceed with steaming. Steaming adds moisture to my curls and helps to raise the cuticle, which means the treatment I applied is easily being absorbed. My hair then feels so soft and very moisturized.
- To Detangle – If I go too long with my hair out or even in a bun, the back of my hair becomes a nest. This delays the detangling process in the shower so I then just apply coconut oil in my hair and steam. This is before I wash my hair so similar to pre-pooing. This makes the process in the shower a lot easier. All I do in the shower is finger detangle, viola!
- To Refresh/Add Volume – I take my hair out of the pineapple from the night before and steam to refresh my curls. This is similar to using a spray bottle, except you’re not adding excess water. I suggest steaming with your hair flipped to add volume whiling doing so. Scrunch and work in circular motions, girl!
