MY FALL SKIN CARE ROUTINE WITH CLARISONIC

Just like my curly hair routine changes as the seasons change, so does my skin care routine. With the fall season comes cooler temperatures which means my skin tends to get dryer.  Dryer skin means my body produces more oil that then may cause my pores to clog. Unfortunately, I have acne prone skin…so guess what happens to me next? *boom* hello pimple!  Let’s be honest, no one likes acne but some of us have to live with it. *shrugs* The good thing is that there are certain products made to help fight acne. 🙂

I love the Clarisonic Mia 1 Device paired with the Pore & Blemish gel cleanser to cleanse my face. As someone who works out 5 times a week, I need a device that will really cleanse my face. I have been using this for a while now and love the results. My skin feels so much softer and so refreshed after every use. Like it actually can breathe, y’all! My pores appear smaller too which is always a plus. 🙂

Don’t get it twisted though, the Clarisonic does not exfoliate your skin, it sonic cleanses the outer layer of your skin. This means it’s safe to use twice daily without agitating your skin. As stated on Clarisonic’s website – Unlike spinning devices, our patented sonic cleansing technology works with skin’s natural elasticity, oscillating at a sonic frequency that produces over 300 movements per second. The resulting flexing action created between the outer and inner brushes works to loosen dirt and oil, removing deep-seated impurities from pores and priming skin to better absorb topical treatments.

The Mia 1 device comes with three different brush heads: Deep Pore Facial Cleansing Brush Head, Radiance Facial Cleansing Brush Head, and the Acne Facial Cleansing Brush Head. My favorite brush head to use is the Radiance facial cleansing brush, its so soft on my skin. The brush is engineered with extra fine bristles to deliver a luxurious and highly effective sonic cleaning experience. Who doesn’t want that? 😀

My skin care routine/How to use the Clarisonic

Prior to the first use, you want to be sure to charge the Clarisonic Mia handle for 18 hours. My night time routine takes a little more time than my morning since my face is definitely dirty after a long day.

  1. I start by using a make up wipe to remove any make up
  2. I then wet my face with warm water + wet the brush head with warm water
  3. I then apply the cleanser directly to the brush
  4. Push the on/off button to turn on your device
  5. Gently move the brush head in small circular motions, beginning on the forehead, then moving to the nose/chin area and the cheeks. I let the device gently glide over my skin without pressing down. The device shuts down after a minute so no need to time it 😉
  6. Rinse my face
  7. Pat dry with a towel
  8. Then I apply a toner, followed by my moisturizer, and oil (only before bedtime).
