If you saw my last post, here, you know I was in Tulum for my girlfriend’s bachelorette party. It was truly one of the best girls trips I’ve taken in a such a long time. We ate a bunch, laughed, and relaxed a lot. Tulum is definitely a place you’d want to visit now since it’s up and coming. I remember the first time hearing about Tulum when one of my favorite bloggers went. The people are so sweet and the vibes you get– all bliss baby!
Tulum is a town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, about a 2-hour drive from Cancun. It’s known for its beaches and well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port city. The Chichen Itza is located in the Yucatan Peninsula, which also happens to be one of the seven wonders of the world. More of a reason why you should go!
The first full day we had in Tulum, we took an 11-hour tour– yes— 11 hours! A tour bus picked us up near our Airbnb and took us to our first stop: Cenotes Cabañas Suytun. A cenote is a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath, how cool?? The people here were very pleasant and so friendly. There were some Mayan people playing music as we walked into the cenote which added to the experience. 😀 The water was pretty cold but felt refreshing after walking for so long. Definitely a beautiful place, glad we went. The sun shining through made everything so majestic!
Our next destination was to the Mayan Ruins (Chichen Itza and Valladolid – Xichen) where we walked a lot! It was such an amazing experience getting to know the Mayans culture and the history behind everything. Our tour guides were very informed and knew their history.
The next few days were spent by our Airbnb and the strip. Tulum has a lot of private beach clubs where you have to spend a minimum amount to be able to lounge around but everything is so inexpensive so you have nothing to worry about. All the food we ate felt so fresh and nothing made us sick, thank God.
Tulum is definitely a place you’d want to visit with your boyfriend or your gal pals. It’s not a place you’d think of to party, it’s pure relaxation. I cannot wait to return a second time, the people of Tulum are truly the most chill and sweetest people I have ever met.
Hope you enjoyed my pictures and thanks for reading, always!
