You all know how much I love Miami and how it has easily become my second home, so there was no doubt I would be there for Swim Week this year. I had such a good time attending shows, eating a ton, spending time with loved ones, and meeting so many amazing people! Here is a little recap of my time there.

I arrived Tuesday morning to have a couple of days to relax before Thursday – the opening to Swim Week. I spent most of Tuesday and Wednesday just eating out, roaming through Miami, and netflixing at night lol.

When Thursday rolled in I was in Swim Week mode – no more relaxing in comfy clothes, it was time to glam up! Jackie from The Modalista arrived that evening and we attended the Sports Illustrated opening party at the W Hotel together. We tend to do a lot of blog-related things together so it was great to have her there sharing our first swim week together (love you girl)! The show was amazing. It was heart warming to see the models walk the runway with real bodies, all shapes and sizes. I have a clip on my Instagram if you’d like to see. After the show, Wale, who happens to be from DC preformed some of his music. Overall it was such a great evening surrounded by great people, music, and drinks!

Thursday night, after all the swim week events, came the after party! One of my favorite places to go to while in Miami on a Thursday night is Brickhouse in Wynwood. It’s latin night on thursdays so they play all my jams lol. Then we kept hopping to other places: Bodega, Blue Martini, and Sidebar. I can def party all night if in the mood 😛

Friday evening we attended Art Hearts Fashion @ the SLS Hotel. I loved all the swimsuits that Riot Swim showcased, I wanted them all. Unfortunately, I didn’t get footage of the actual show but mostly all (if not all) their swimsuits were high waisted and I love that style. Before the show started we were at every booth possible taking pictures lol. I love how they had props to go along with their photobooths, it always makes it more fun. They even had a few (men) models as props 😉 haha. This show was probably my favorite because there was a lot more to do/socialize while we waited for the show. They had a lot of sponsors there like Croix and Evian there giving out their waters.

Friday Night it was back out to party lol. I don’t go out much in DC, actually never really so when I’m in Miami, I take full advantage of it. I went to Bodega to eat tacos and then headed to Party Land more up north. My cousins had friends in town so we wanted to take them to a Dominican spot so what better place than Party Land in Miami Gardens!

The other couple of days I spent in Florida were traveling up to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood area and back down to south beach, I felt like I was backpacking through ubers lol. There’s a cute spot I discovered that I’ll share in another post. 🙂 I cannot wait for next year’s swim week. Now that I know what to expect, I’ll be more prepared. Overall, it was an amazing trip!

Thank your for reading! Besos :*
